Implant Supported Denture
Implant Supported Denture in Minneapolis
The main problem with a denture is that it is not an actual part of the mouth the way our natural teeth are. The denture is instead held in place with an adhesive which has a certain amount of staying power, but under certain circumstances — usually ill-timed and embarrassing circumstances — the adhesive fails, and the denture comes loose.
Snap-in, snap-out
By strategically placing permanent implants in the mouth, however, a snap-in and snap-out implant supported denture can be made that solves this very fundamental problem: the denture actually attaches to the permanent implants and, as a result, also to the mouth. It gives the patient a very real sense that their implant supported denture is like natural teeth, and how great is that?.
How it works
To support an upper denture, a minimum of four implants are required. Three implants are, at a minimum, required to support a bottom denture. More implants will give more stability, but for most patients these minimum number of implants suffice and will be successful.
Great news!
"If you wear a denture, think about how liberating an implant supported denture would be. I would be very happy to discuss this great technology with any denture wearer, because I have seen how life changing it can be. Dentistry has come a long way in this regard, and this simple yet life invigorating solution is a real game changer."
