How long does the dental implant process take?

The dental implant process can vary from patient to patient, but on average, it takes three to six months to complete. While that might sound like a long time, it’s worth it for the long-lasting results that dental implants provide. At CityTooth, our team will support you every step of the way to deliver a seamless and successful experience.

Here’s how the process typically works:

  • Initial Consultation and Planning — During your first visit, we’ll assess your oral health, discuss your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. If you need preparatory work like a bone graft or tooth extraction, this step may add some time.
  • Dental Implant Placement — The next step involves placing the titanium implant into your jawbone. This acts as a sturdy replacement for your tooth root. After placement, a healing period of three to four months allows the implant to fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration.
  • Restoration — Once the implant has fully integrated, we’ll attach a custom crown, bridge, or denture to complete your smile. This step is quick and painless, bringing your implant journey to a close.
